The Poe Film Festival is not currently accepting pitches or scripts other than through the contest format.

Our 2019 Poe Film Festival kicks off with the award-winning, “Get Out,” a horror-thriller by writer-director Jordan Peele. And, like all of our festival events, admission is FREE.

The film will be shown at VCU’s Student Commons Theater, 907 Floyd Avenue, Richmond, on Friday, October 25 at 7:30 pm. Doors open at 7 pm.

Following the screening, an all-star panel will discuss the movie’s themes and story structure. Moderating the panel will be Dr. Shawn Utsey, chair of VCU’s Department of African-American Studies.

Panel members are Jesse Vaughan, Emmy-award winning director; BK Fulton, producer and owner of Soulidifly Productions, and Caroline Hoover, Virginia screenwriting phenom.

A special thanks goes out to VCU Student Activities Board and the Robertson School of Media and Culture, whose support and commitment to the arts make this magical evening happen.

Join us for this Halloween weekend spectacular.
