The Poe Film Festival Pro Film Awards is proud to announce the winner of its 2020 Director’s Award, Ana Ines King – founder and director of the Latin Ballet of Virginia.
The Director’s Award recognizes outstanding accomplishments in the creative arts in Virginia.
Ms. King created this amazing performing arts organization in 1997 to enrich and connect communities through cultural dance experiences throughout Virginia.
A native of Colombia, Ms. King is a quiet leader in promoting education and diversity. Her Latin Ballet serves approximately 14,000 K-12 students in the Commonwealth through lectures, performances and residencies via school field trips. Another 400 students attend the ballet’s year-round dance school.
Ms. King was won many awards, including the 2016 Virginia Women in History award presented by the Library of Virginia for her important contribution to Virginia, the nation, and the world.
We are honored to present our Director’s Award during our November festival to Ana Ines King – whose love of dance and Latin culture spreads smiles and awareness of our people’s natural beauty.
