Twenty-sixth in a series of articles from our visits to colleges and universities that are invited to participate in the 2018 College Film Awards.
We are so excited to invite student filmmakers from The Catholic University of America. CUA is a relatively small Catholic school on the largest school campus in the District of Columbia. Founded by the U.S. Bishops in 1887 as a graduate and research school, the university has evolved into a modern American university, committed not only to graduate but also to undergraduate and professional education and to the cultivation of the arts.
Among its many arts programs, CUA’s Department of Media and Communication Studies houses its ambitious film studies department. Catholic University proudly touts its achievements in narrative and documentary filmmaking, making this university a prime contender for Best Documentary honors at our 2018 College Film Awards.
An example of its filmmaking success can be found at: http://mediastudies.cua.edu/Production.cfm The school’s Media Composition course presents students with a wonderful academic opportunity to study the ins and outs of film production and editing with accomplished professionals in the field.
We heartily welcome The Catholic University of America to our list of invited colleges to the College Film Awards. Go Cardinals!
